Fold Housing is currently seeking to recruit two candidates for the above position, with one based in our Dublin 11 Housing with Care Scheme and one based in our Dublin 15 Scheme.

Job Purpose: To support the Housing with Care Manager in the day-to-day operation of our Housing with Care scheme. The Team Leader will provide the necessary leadership to maintain high standards of care, including direct involvement in care delivery, support, safety, discipline and morale within Housing with Care.  

Main Responsibilities

  • To support the Housing with Care Manager in the organisation and management of the Housing-with-Care scheme.
  • In conjunction with the Housing with Care Manager be responsible for achieving high professional standards of care in accordance with FOLD Housing’s policies for Housing-with-Care and regulatory standards and to ensure the rights of residents are always protected
  • To enable Housing-with-Care residents to take a full and active part in the life of the local community.
  • To work as an IPC link Practitioner to support and implement effective infection prevention control practices within Housing with Care
  • The Team Leader will be required to work alternative weekends and shift patterns (Shift)
  • To be responsible for leading the green energy team and implement effective actions, and keep minutes

Policy and Compliance

  • Implement an annual HwC audit schedule (to include weekly/monthly audits) within the housing scheme in areas such as medication, IPC, environment and topical cream charts and ensure timely follow up on observations and recommendations
  • To work as an IPC link practitioner to support and implement effective infection prevention and control practices within Housing with Care and provide training to staff as required
  • To participate in inspections from HIQA, HSE, HSA , Fire Authority, and Environmental health
  • To act as Fold Housing Designated Officer on all matters relating to safeguarding of residents. Responsible for ensuring reporting procedures within the organisation are followed, so that protection concerns are referred promptly to relevant external agencies

Staff Management

  • Responsible for the induction and orientation of new staff into the organisation
  • Organise and implement duty rosters and methods of working ensuring adequate staffing levels and skills mix are in place
  • Ensure an effective performance management system is in place in the care scheme through participation in the Supervision and Appraisal processes for staff and to support the manager in the identification of individual staff training needs and development opportunities
  • Implement Fold Housings annual training plan across HwC schemes and ensure all required training is completed in a timely matter to ensure regulatory compliance and job competency
  • Provide training to staff in areas such as medication management, IPC etc.
  • Facilitate regular staff meetings and ensure the content and decisions of such meetings are properly documented and provided to the Housing with Care Manager
  • Participate in recruitment and selection for new care-based staff as directed by the Housing with Care Manager
  • Deputise in the absence of the Housing with Care Manager
  • Provide adequate care cover in times when the schemes are short staffed

Residents

  • Plan and implement a schedule of meaningful activities and stimulation for HwC residents ensuring their individual and collective needs are met. Encourage and promote participation in such activities allowing for an increased sense of wellness and enjoyment
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of resident’s care plans ensuring they meet residents physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual needs
  • Actively participate in resident review meetings and maintain links with external health and welfare services.
  • Liaise with external agencies, voluntary groups and individuals within the community to maximise opportunities for residents to socialise and take an active part within the local community
  • To Undertake any duties identified or delegated by the PIC
  • The post holder will be required to work set shifts which will involve morning/evening and alternate weekend working
